Madara & Obito Theory

The last two chapters of Naruto (Chapter 599 & Chapter 600) were probably two of the most mind-boggling chapters to be released in the series' history. The events that recently happened in the Manga may not seem to be so much of a surprise to fans who've supported the theory of Tobi being Obito, but it may seem to be a shock to those that have opposed the idea for years. I, myself, have always leaned towards the thought of Kagami Uchiha being a candidate as the man behind the mask. But at the same time, the fact that Obito Uchiha is Tobi was not entirely illogical in the first place (except for the fact that Obito couldn't have been the one that attacked Konoha during the time Minato was alive since the timing would be inaccurate). Nonetheless, I have found a simple but meaningful theory that another fan came up with recently:
  • Tobi is Obito.
  • Obito gave his eye to Kakashi and they were told to run, leaving Obito to die.
  • Obito passed out.
  • Obito was saved by Madara Uchiha at The Battle of Kannabi Bridge.
  • After Obito woke up, Madara had already attended to his wounds, his eye sack, from which his eye to Kakashi was torn out, is shown to be sewn, and his right eye intact, although his right side of the face seems to be bruised a lot.
  • Obito was burried in Konoha with an empty grave.
  • Madara became Obito's mentor.
  • Obito was brainwashed in the long run into accepting Madaras ideals.
  • Madara was the one to come up with Tsuki No Me.
  • Madara was the one to attack Konoha 16 years ago, wearing the mask.
  • Madara died after unlocking Rinnegan (is not explained how he done it) and overusing it by accident.
  • Obito became Tobi.
  • His mission was to carry out Madaras plan.
  • He was given all the information that Madara possessed, thus the extent of knowledge Tobi has about everything.
  • He was trained by Madara.
Note: I do not know who came up with this theory (since the user who posted it was anonymous). Whoever it was, you have my kudos.

In chapter 600 of Naruto, Obito states that Kakashi "let Rin die". Let's just hope Kishimoto doesn't continue going this route to show that Kakashi letting Rin die is the main reason why Tobi/Obito is the way he is. Perhaps there are more twists in the upcoming chapters and this is just the beginning.

For more updates on the affiliation between Madara Uchiha & Obito Uchiha, stay tuned.

Samurai Champloo Back On Netflix!

It seems that Samurai Champloo has returned to Netflix as an Instant Streaming title! Ever since Netflix was involved with licensing issues regarding several Anime titles such as Bleach, many of these popular series were taken off the streaming list. Eventually, these titles were only available as DVD discs (which, of course, requires you to pay extra in addition to the standard $7.99 monthly fee).

Luckily, Samurai Champloo broke out of this phase and has become an Instant Streaming title once again. Samurai Champloo is available on Netflix in HD (High Definition) and, yes, it is English DUBBED (like many other Anime series you'll find in the streaming list). I certainly hope Funimation will allow Netflix to bring back more popular titles such as this one very soon. Stay tuned.

EVO 2012 LIVE

If you're a hardcore Street Fighter fan (such as myself), you've probably been following EVO 2012. It's that time again where some of the top fighting game players come together for an annual showdown! Yesterday kicked off with Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (AE) roundups and today mostly consists of Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 matches. Tomorrow we'll get to see finals in various games including the following:
  • Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
  • Street Fighter X Tekken
  • Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
  • Mortal Kombat
  • Soul Calibur V
  • King of Fighters XIII
You can view the tournament live at Gamespot (though you will see some lag from time to time since there are thousands of viewers watching the video simultaneously). Standard viewing resolution for the EVO 2012 LIVE stream supports 240p, 360p, and 480p. Purchasing a ticket for $12 will allow you to watch the stream at 720p and 720p+. Additionally, you can contribute to the chat rooms to cheer on your favorite players or offer your opinions for the live matches.

Don't forget to catch the finals tomorrow! Happy viewing.

VLC Media Player For Android

Many of us with smartphones (such as the Android) sometimes prefer to watch Anime on-the-go. Seeing that Netflix has a limited amount of Anime series (ever since DVD licensing issues came up), we tend to find numerous ways to go about watching our favorite shows. You may find that Crunchyroll's App might be another investment, but it has it's own share of ups and downs as well. At the end of the day, some of us just want to watch Anime on our mobile devices in MKV format. The question is "Are there apps that enable our smartphones to play MKVs at 720p?".

I've been quite happy with MX Player for Android (since it is one of the few apps that can render 720p MKV videos without losing frame-rates or quality). The only issue that still exists is whether your mobile device can support Hardware Acceleration and fast Software Decoding. In this regard, MX Player will handle most of your videos just fine. There is, however, no true mobile app that can handle high resolution MKVs perfectly. The only thing we can do is try out different applications and use one that works well.

The mobile team at VideoLAN has been working on an App for Android for quite some time and it has just been officially released today on the Google App Market (Play Store). If you're interested, you can view the release notes and features from VideoLAN. Currently being at a beta stage, the app does not run flawlessly across devices. Some of you may encounter H.264 issues while some of you with high-end phones will be just fine. Being interested in video performance for a versatile of formats, I will definitely be on the lookout for more of their updates.

Bleach To Enter Last Arc

Recent news from Anime News Network claims Bleach will be entering its final arc soon. Tite Kubo has declared a three-week break for Bleach since the release of chapter 479, so it's clear he has used this time to come up with great ideas for the upcoming arc. According to Crunchyroll's take on future arcs, here is a translation from unknown sources and comments:

"破面篇よりも長いんだよなぁ…
It's going to be longer than the Arrancar arc.

また人気出たら
ブリーチ2とかタイトル変えて新章突入とかやるからwww
When it gets popular again, the title is going to change to Bleach2
and it'll enter a new arc...

最終章って聞くとついにか!
と思うけど破面篇より長くなるってことは 後30巻ぐらい続くんだよな
I thought "So I'm finally hearing it's the last arc" but if it's going to be longer than the Arrancar arc its going to continue for another 30 volumes."

I'm sure those of you that follow several Manga have heard of Rock Lee Spinoff, a special gag of the character from Naruto. According to Anime News Network, this comic relief will be getting its own Anime series starting April 3 on TV Tokyo (replacing Bleach time slots). In other words, no more Bleach Anime until the final arc! Even though filler haters might be pleased, I personally think a Bleach filler would be a much better idea rather than a long break of no episodes.

Since the next Bleach issue is about a week away, here are some teasers from a recent Kubo interview to keep you wondering about the upcoming arc(s):

- Soifon's left hand has been healed.
- Unohana Retsu will finally enter a battle in the upcoming arc as well as do a Zanpakuto release (true form will be revealed).
- Renji's bankai has changed somewhat.
- Grimmjow and Nel might appear.
- Kyoraku Shunsui's haori (captain's cloak) has a history behind it. It will be revealed in the next arc. There is also the possibility that he might go bankai.
- The relationship between Urahara and Yoruichi will be revealed.
- Kuchiki Rukia is a vice captain/lieutenant now (we've already seen that from the ending of the last arc).
- Kurotsuchi Mayuri will have a different look.

Stay tuned for more on Bleach.
